Recreation Near Osage City
Pomona and Melvern Reservoirs
There are two federal reservoirs in Osage County: Pomona and Melvern. Both are within 25 minutes of Osage City and have:
  • State parks
  • Public hunting areas
  • Fishing
  • Camping
  • Water sports
  • Camping areas with electric hook ups and waste disposal

Melvern Lake has a bridle trail for hiking and horseback riding that is approximately 22 miles long. Both lakes have nature trails for hikers and nature lovers. At the Pomona Lake there is the 32-mile Black Hawk Trail for hiking and horseback riding.

Other Attractions
Other attractions in the County include three golf courses:
  • Osage City Country Club
  • Lamont Hill
  • Hidden Springs

There are also historical sites throughout the county. Osage City is the home of the Railroad Depot & Museum. The Santa Fe Trail also runs through the northern portion of the county.

Sky Dive Kansas is located at the Osage City Airport. Sky Dive Kansas teaches people to sky dive every Saturday.
